Volgens die Grondwet van BJV, word die Honorus Signum as volg beskryf:

n Ere-toekenning wat bekend sal staan as die Honorus Signum toekenning kan toegeken word deur die Uitvoerende Bestuur aan ‘n lid wie:
21.1 Vir ‘n ononderbroke tydperk van 5 (VYF) jaar ‘n volopbetaalde lid van die Vereniging was en uitsonderlike voortreflike en onbaatsugtige diens aan die Vereniging in die besonder of die jagsport in die algemeen gelewer het, of;

21.2 Vir 'n tydperk van minstens 10 (TIEN) jaar onafgebroke op 'n Bestuur en/of die Advieskomitee gedien het.

According to the Constitution of BJV, the Honorus Signum is described as follows:

An honorary award that will be known as the Honorus Signum award can be awarded by the Executive Board to a member who:
21.1 For an uninterrupted period of 5 (FIVE) years has been a fully paid member of the Association and has rendered exceptionally excellent and selfless service to the Association in particular whether the sport of hunting in general, or;

21.2 Has served continuously on a Management and / or the Advisory Committee for a period of at least 10 (TEN) years.
